Bangla daily newspaper Kaler Kantho steps into the 10th year of operation today with a renewed vow to project Bangladesh globally through objective journalism. With the tagline “Not partial, complete truth,” the newspaper commenced its journey on January 10, 2010 as a full-fledged broadsheet on behalf of East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL). The popular daily has taken up a series of programmes to mark its anniversary throughout the day. Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is scheduled to grace the occasion with her presence as the chief guest. Earlier on Wednesday evening, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir and his spouse Sabrina Sobhan jointly kick-started the anniversary programme by cutting a cake at a function at the newspaper office in Dhaka. Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon, Publisher Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, daily sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, News24 Executive Director Hasnain Khurshid and Banglanews24 Consultant Editor Jewel Mazhar were present on the occasion. Kaler Kantho Executive Editor Mostofa Kamal, Joint Editor Towhidur Rahman, Advertisement Department Head Harunur Rashid and Circulation Head Abul Hasan were, among others, also present on the occasion. The newspaper authorities will accord a reception to a host of 30 noted academicians who have been contributing to spread the light of knowledge in the society.
